How India Thinks: Indian Political and Social Attitudes Study (IPSAS)

The project aims to unravel the Indian phenomenon of modernity with tradition through a national public opinion survey. It will empirically examine mass attitudes in India on a wide range of social, political, and economic issues. This includes understanding the political and economic ideology of Indian citizens, their attitudes towards in-groups and out-groups, and prevailing social norms and customs.

Indian Strategic Thought

The project intends to investigate schools of strategic thinking in India through the study of heretofore neglected  individual and institutional archives. Through the study of primary texts, the project aspires to understand the worldviews of Indian elites on strategic issues like great power relations, conventional and nuclear security, alliances, trade and multilateralism, and threats and opportunities in neighborhood and beyond.
